Romans 9:15-16 And so God’s blessings are not given just because someone decides to have them or works hard to get them. They are given because God takes pity on those He wants to.
For God said to Moses, “I will show mercy to anyone I choose, and I will show compassion to anyone I choose.” ¹⁶ So it is God who decides to show mercy. We can neither choose it nor work on it. (NlT bible vers). Amen
We human beings always want to think we are in charge. We think we are the “captains of our souls” and that our decisions and actions we can determine what will happen. However, the Scripture confronts us with quite a different scenario. Paul shows that God determines the course of our salvation. Amen.
