Gracious Lord Christ, You have called me to live life to the fullest and exemplify to others life as You meant it to be lived. Today I sense Your nudge to think about of the kind of example I am to others. I wonder: if all they knew of what it means to be a Christian were dependent on what they see, hear, and feel from me, what would be their perception of Christianity? If they had to write a 30-word definition of a Christian from my life, what would they write? My mind darts to how I can be more strong and perfect in my example. Then I realise that is not the issue. I am not to get the glory for my growth in You; You are to receive the glory for Your grace at work in me.
Thank You for giving me the crucial questions to ask: What will people learn from me about how to deal with difficulties, how to have courage in problems, and how to express joy when circumstances are frustrating? What will others learn about Your peace and hope? Paul’s questions to the Corinthians,” Who sees anything different in you?” makes me wonder about the difference others may observe that You have made in me. Lord, help me think about the awesome power of what can be Your influence on others through me. I pray all these with thanksgiving in Jesus Name Amen. Shalom.
