Father, I begin this day by claiming this magnificent fivefold assurance. I ask You to make this a delightful day filled with the assurance of Your blessing. May I live today with the creative esteem of knowing that You have chosen me and called me to receive Your love and to serve You. Keep me safe from danger and the forces of evil. Give me the helmet of salvation to protect my thinking from any intrusion of temptation to pride, resistance to Your guidance, or negative attitudes. Smile on me as Your face, Your presence, lifts me from fear or frustration.
Thank You for Your grace to overcome the grimness that sometimes pervades my countenance. Instead, may my countenance reflect Your joy. May Your peace flow into me, calming my agitated spirit, conditioning my disposition and controlling all that I say and do. Help me to say to others, “Have a blessed day,” and to expect nothing less for myself. Help me to experience the peace of a forgiven heart, the peace of a heart completely open to You, and the peace of a pure heart filled with Your Spirit. You are the sole source of perfect peace.
