Let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith. Galatians 6:9-10.
Gracious God, Sovereign of my life, You have blessed me with the opportunity to be a vital part of Your blessing to other people. I commit this day to being sensitive to the needs of others around me. Show me the people who are in need of encouragement or affirmation. Give me exactly what I should say to give them a lift. Free me of preoccupation with myself and my own needs. Help me to remember that people will care about what I know when they know I care about them. May my countenance, words, and actions communicate my caring.
Make me a good listener, Lord, and enable me to hear what people are expressing beneath what they are saying. Most of all, remind me of the power of intercessory prayer. May I claim Your best for people as I pray for them….including those with whom I disagree. Help me to see them not as enemies but as individuals who will help sharpen my edge. Lift me above pretty attitudes or petulant gossip. Rather, fill me with Your presence, and my heart with Your magnanimous attitude toward others in Jesus Name I pray amen.
