God has spoken once, twice I have heard this;that power belongs to God. Also to You, o Lord, belongs mercy. Psalm 62:11-12.
Lord of all life, I thank You that You are concerned about every area of my life. I receive great assurance from knowing that no problem I face is too big for You, and no detail is too small to escape Your attention. I know I can ask for Your wisdom in my most momentous deliberations and receive Your guidance in the most mundane decisions.
Before I press on with the demands of today, I need to open my mind to You. I say with the psalmist, “Truly my soul silently waits for God” Psalm 62:1. So often I rush off in all directions before I know what You want me to be and do. Sometimes the communication lines with You get jammed by my flow of words to You without listening to what You have to say to me. Prayer becomes like a telephone conversation in which I hang up on You before You have a chance to respond to the needs and questions I have spread out before You.
Today, Lord, I want to keep the line open and really listen to You. Give me the patience to wait for Your creative insight about how to solve problems and guidance for helping the people of my life. Thank You Most High God for answering my prayers in Jesus Name I pray. Amen.
